Terms of Service

Last updated: April 21, 2026  |  Effective: April 21, 2026  |  Version 2.1

These terms govern your purchase and use of Stride. Read them — they're written plainly on purpose. Quick links: System Requirements · License · Refund Policy

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing, installing, or using Stride, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not purchase or use Stride.

You must be at least 16 years old to purchase or use Stride.

Stride is operated by an independent developer ("we", "us") based in Israel. References to "Stride" include both the desktop application and the accompanying StrideLink Max for Live device.

2. What Stride Is · System Requirements

Stride is a sound design engine for Ableton Live. It consists of a desktop application (Windows and macOS) and a Max for Live device (StrideLink) that work together to turn your existing instrument racks into modulation playgrounds. Stride generates automation curves and Ableton clip files (.alc) which you drag into your Live set.

You must have all of the following to use Stride. It is your responsibility to verify this before purchase:

  • Ableton Live 11 Suite or higher — OR Ableton Live 11 Standard plus the Max for Live add-on. Stride does NOT work with Ableton Live Lite, Intro, or versions older than 11.
  • Python 3 installed on your computer (pre-installed on macOS; Windows users can install it from python.org).
  • macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later, or Windows 10/11.
  • An internet connection for initial license activation.

Stride does NOT replace Ableton Live, does NOT generate audio, and cannot be used as a standalone music production tool. It works ALONGSIDE Ableton to automate instrument rack parameters.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".

3. Your Purchase · License Grant

What you get

When you purchase Stride, you receive:

  • One license key valid for activating Stride on up to two (2) personal computers that you own or control.
  • Free updates within the current major version at no additional cost.
  • Email support at home@stridehub.io, typically answered within 48 hours.

Payment processing

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC), who acts as merchant of record and handles all payment data. Stride never receives or stores your card details. Applicable sales tax or VAT is collected by Lemon Squeezy according to your billing country.

License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and full payment, Stride grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Stride desktop application and the StrideLink Max for Live device on up to two (2) personal computers.

You may NOT:

  • Share, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute your license key, the Stride installer, or any part of the Stride software.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of Stride, except to the limited extent such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.
  • Use Stride to develop, build, or train a competing product.

We reserve the right to deactivate or revoke license keys used in violation of these restrictions.

4. Refund Policy

Stride offers a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase.

Full refund within 14 days

If Stride isn't working for you, email home@stridehub.io within 14 days of purchase. We'll either help you get it running or process your refund, your choice. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 business days.

After 14 days, refunds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

How to request a refund

Email home@stridehub.io with your order number (sent by Lemon Squeezy after purchase) and a short description of the issue. We reply within 48 hours.

Chargebacks

Please email us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We usually resolve issues faster and more flexibly than your bank's dispute process, and chargebacks filed without first contacting us incur fees that small independent studios like ours have to absorb.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Stride for any illegal purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, extract, or probe the internal workings of Stride beyond what applicable law expressly permits.
  • Automate, script, or abuse any cloud service Stride may offer (including rate-limit circumvention or API scraping).
  • Share, sell, or transfer your license key to any other person.
  • Interfere with or disrupt Stride's servers or infrastructure.
  • Upload malicious files or content designed to exploit the system.

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke license keys used in violation of these terms.

6. Intellectual Property

Your content

You retain full ownership of all files you load into Stride (instrument racks, MIDI, audio, etc.). Stride processes your files locally on your computer to generate automation curves. Optional cloud features, if used, transmit only the specific data needed to fulfill your request — see our Privacy Policy.

Generated output

All output generated by Stride (automation curves, .alc files, MIDI) belongs to you. Stride makes no ownership claims and requires no attribution. You are free to use Stride-generated output in commercial releases, live performances, licensed tracks, samples, or any other context without restriction from us.

Stride's intellectual property

The Stride application, the StrideLink Max for Live device, the Stride brand and logo, the Stride canvas UI, and the underlying code and techniques are the property of Stride. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of them.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Generated output will meet your specific creative requirements.
  • Generated output is free from any resemblance to existing works.
  • Stride will remain compatible with all future versions of Ableton Live, macOS, or Windows.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits warranties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded in your jurisdiction.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STRIDE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR MUSIC PROJECT FILES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to Stride shall not exceed the amount you paid for Stride in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded in your jurisdiction, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death and personal injury.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stride and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of Stride, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

10. Termination

  • You may stop using Stride at any time. Uninstalling the application ends your active use of the Service.
  • We may suspend or terminate your license for material violation of these Terms, in which case we will attempt to notify you by email and refund any unused portion of your purchase at our discretion.
  • Upon termination, your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
  • Sections 6 (Intellectual Property), 7 (Disclaimers), 8 (Limitation of Liability), and 9 (Indemnification) survive termination.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email (to the address you provided at purchase) or via a notice in the app or on stridehub.io. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, your remedy is to stop using Stride — continued use after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance.

Minor or non-material changes (typos, clarifications, updated contact details) may be made without notice.

12. Governing Law · Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide stronger rights — in which case those rights apply.

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first email home@stridehub.io and give us a reasonable opportunity (at least 30 days) to resolve the issue informally. Most disputes are resolved by a quick email conversation.
